Work at Home Scam
While it’s easy to work from home, it’s also easy to become the target for a work at home scam. And it’s not like there’s just one or two scam businesses up and running online. They’re everywhere – and they all have one goal in mind – to separate you from your money.
It’s disgusting, but the scammers already know their product or service has no value. What they bank on is that you don’t know the truth behind what they’re offering. If you go online and do a search for work at home scam, you’ll feel overwhelmed at all of the results you see.
Some of them promise you the moon. Many say that for ‘just a one time initial investment’ you can be on your way to the life of a millionaire. Some go as far as to promise you this life in a matter of days (not months or years).
So how do you know if it’s a legitimate offer? If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. Don’t be gullible enough to fall for that easy and fast money lure. There is fast and easy money involved in this scam – yours. And it’s flowing from your pocket to theirs.
You can keep from being taken advantage of by doing your homework. Check out who the product owner is. Does he or she have a bad online reputation? Are there complaints against them? Against their company? Look into the product itself.
You can do a Google search by typing in the name of the person or the product and typing in ëcomplaints’ after it or you can use the word ëscam.’ But also recognize that people pushing these products use those phrases as well, so read the review to see if it’s real or just a way to sell you on it.
Listen to what the general public is saying about the person or product. Don’t go solely by what’s said on the product website. Just because there are testimonials on a page where a product is featured doesn’t make it legitimate.
Those could be testimonials from people who are friends of the product owner or someone who wants the branding and name recognition of being on the sales page. Check out what kind of return policy the product offers. Do they offer a money back guarantee? If so, check on a Google search to see if people have tried to get their money back and haven’t. Play it smart and you’ll be richer for it.
